Flo part 3 - 30 days - Polishing the diamond... or?

You Can't Polish Poop. No, this is not about the excrements of the friendly people in Poland. This is about one of my favorite TV series of all time - The Mythbusters - and about their endeavours to test the myth on making a shiny ball out of feces ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MythBusters_(2008_season)#Episode_113_%E2%80%93_%22End_With_a_Bang%22 ).

Spoiler: myth failed. So you CAN polish poop.So shiny. Talk about bling! So what does it mean for me? Well, I like that episode. Have a look yourself if you want, deeply hidden in the wonderful Internet service YouTube (warning - this is the full episode): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_Y35PqjecY&t=16s (Apologies, cannot embed the video in here, you must use the link to watch it inside YouTube)

No, just joking. What it actually means from my perspective that I believe in working towards goals. Slow and steady, as they say, but also with some occasional bigger steps taken in the results "ladder". As said previously: I. WILL. BE. READY.

Final participant lists
The registration finished and the participant lists have now been locked. There was no major last-minute changes coming. What does it look like then? Speculation abound!
Like before, see below for the registered throwers and their logged in results from 2022 to 2024 (results in meters). NOTE: Where you see a name on a light purple background, I estimate that person to be in top 8. This is important as they also
get the last 3 throws.
NOTE 2: Where you see a result on a light blue background and a some red in the font, that is a result with a M45 implement (e g 15.88kg for weight and 7.26kg for hammer). NOTE 3: "Register" means what they inputed by themselves during registration (one can input whatever value they like). NOTE 4: "Rank" means the global 2024 result ranking from mastersrankings.com . HAMMER: Fighting for the medal. The dream lives on!

WEIGHT THROW: Solid performance gets me 4th to 5th

The last 4 weeks to are targeted for a good result. Commonly, I do not really "polish the diamond" by peaking in the winter time but this time I will do for Florida. That is obvious from all what I currently do. I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fight for a medal and I will not leave that stone unturned. Rest assured, this will not mess my summer plans. On the contrary, I think they will complement each other.

I have now a bold strategy for the winter peaking as well. In Finnish we have a modern saying: "Tietäjät tietää". I'll not open up that now, sorry, but you'll see and hear later on what it realized into. I am excited and slightly bit of scared of it as well what I get out of it.
I am quite happy how things look now.

This week I am finishing a really heavy strength block (from my block peridization plan https://hammered50after50.blogspot.com/2024/10/2024-2025-repeating-miracle.html ) of 6 whole weeks. I see results,.

I have not lost the speed either, as I have reached some all-time-bests in shots throwing ("over the head behind"/"pään yli taakse" especially) noting that the nervous system and explosiveness/"strong" speed production is in good shape. I will have a bit more neural drive-type of weightroom sessions with some explosive stuff programmed especially to last 2 weeks.

I will move to throw the competition hammer (6kg) quite much more in the next 3 weeks. I will relax relax with proper recuperation, sleep and reducing fatigue "to ease the result to come out". The last weeks I have exercised with overweight implements and I feel that with 6.7kg hammer the speed/pressure aspect are coming along nicely. Next in line I will ensure that it comes out with my competition hammer as well.

The final road to Florida success is... ... 30 days to competition ... 13 throwing days
... 17 throwing sessions
... 10 strength training sessions ... 13 rest days ... mostly 6kg implement throws ... taking me to the right mental place ... neural finetuning in the gym with weights moving fast
... resulting in the speed in throws

I. WILL. BE. READY.

Preparing for Flo-ri-da storyline is not finished yet!
See the updates close to the mid/end March! C U soon! Team Pulska will get ya! Train hard, but recover to be better.
